Model 594 is an AC-DC 5-tube superheterodyne for broadcast reception 540 to 1600 kHz including police calls. It has automatic volume control (AVC). It is the same schematic as model 53 AC-DC but with an additional tone switch and more modern cabinet. See the article here about season 1934/35.
