  • Anotaciones
  • An all-triode superhet using WECO valves in a series/parallel filament configuration and possibly the domestic version of the 4004 which was used extensively in the diplomatic services for Embassy communications. The hole in the front housed a dual range voltmeter used to check the two HT batteries. Two special oscillator coils were provided, one covering 300-500 m and the other, 500-1000 m. All other RF coils are the standard 2-pin plug-in "What are the Wild Waves Saying" units covering the 200-1000 m using a total of 12 coils of six different values. The chassis is constructed of solid copper, bright nickel plated and is divided into 6 sections, the main ones being labelled as AE Tuner, O.S.C., Wavetrap, IF Amp and AF amp. The 215A valve filaments (1 V) are connected in a series/parallel arrangement to enable a 4 V storage battery to be used, this being required by the PA4 made by STC and using the 4-pin UV base.
