  • Anotaciones
  • The Stromberg-Carlson model 56 is an 8 tube, AC operated broadcast band receiver with a push-pull output stage. It has an Art Deco cabinet with a small hinged front door concealing the control panel. The model was available with either a 50-60Hz power supply or a 25-60Hz power supply, but there is no difference in model name. Stromberg-Carlson datasheet 23982 - Re-issued 5/5/37 references the rectifier tube as an 80 tube in some places and as a 5Z3 tube in other places. There are advertisements for it in several of the 1933 issues of Radio Retailing magazine. The October 1933 issue has an ad featuring just this model and Model 55, while the November 1933 issue has an ad featuring only this model. Note: The January 1934 issue of Radio Retailing has an ad with text describing a similar Model 56-R with the same cabinet (Modish with French Circassian Walnut, Tiger Wood, and Carpathian Elm), but a removable control panel case covered with burled walnut.
