  • Bemerkung
  • The Stromberg-Carlson model C 524 AC uses the socket power unit 403 (versions) with the Full-Wave Vacuum Rectifier 80 and two Half-Wave Rectifiers 277465. The same two chassis are used by model 523 AC.
They have two dials (primary tuning control knobs). Just an example how advertising was made in 1928 for the 523 AC - under the title:

    "Workmanship Tells in Tone quality"
"One touch of the control and you realize the exquisite workmanship of a Stromberg-Carlson. You sense such fineness of adjustment that you are not surprised at the glorious tone and the keen selectivity.
Workmanship does tell in a Receiver's performance. The even spacing and winding of the coils; the hairbradth alignement of condensers; perfect shielding even of the wires between the shielded stages - illustrate what has been done to give Stromberg-Carlson its reputation for tonal excellence.
And, if you own a Stromberg-Carlson you will take pride in tis external workmanship - the magnificent cabinetry - the panelling of inverse French marquetry - the fittings of enchased bronze, as well as the marvelous tone."
