  • Notes
  • The TrueLight TRR-1B43 Optoelectronic Receiver is an ST-connectorized synthetic module containing an InGaAs PIN photodiode plus an AGC preamplifier that is designed for 100/155 Mb/s applications. The phase shift at an optical input level of -19 dBm is about -25 ps/dB. The active components are housed in a 4-lead windowed, actively-aligned, hermetic TO can inside the module. The device has differential outputs.

    Power supply 4.5 to 5.5 V
Max supply current 40 mA (no loads)
    DC output voltage 1.5 to 3.5 V
Max differential output voltage 1.2 V (1300 nm, 0 dBm)
Max data output rise and fall time 4.5 ns. (1300 nm, 10 µW)
    Typical output resistance 50 Ω
Min bandwidth 115 MHz (1300 nm, 10 µW)
Saturation power -3 dBm (1300 nm)
    Gain at 10 Mb/s differential 0.18 to 220 V/mW (1300 nm)
    Max sensitivity -31 dBm (1300 nm, 155 Mb/s, BER 10-10)
    Storage temperature -40 to 100 ˚C
    Operating temperature -20 to 85 ˚C

About 23,000 TRR-1B43 receivers are used at CERN's Large Hadron Collider to receive the optical Timing, Trigger and Control (TTC) signals at the front end electronics of the physics experiments. The TTC signals are decoded by a custom ASIC that is fabricated in rad-hard DMILL technology and housed in a 144-ball fpBGA (fine pitch Ball Grid Array) package.

    Made in Taiwan.
