  • Anotaciones
  • The  “Recreator” tone arm and reproducer assembly with  magnetic pickup made it possible to play 78 RPM records on an acoustical phonograph through the audio circuits of a radio.

The pick-up head incorporated a horseshoe magnet, pole pieces and a 2kΩ pickup coil with a steel needle held in place with a thumb screw. The head weighed 6 ounces.

It was sold with the tonearm, reproducer head, mounting clamp, volume control and connecting cable.

Volume control of early TRF radios of the era was achieved by control of the cathode bias of the RF tubes to control audio output so when the “Recreator” was connected to the first audio detector grid a rheostat had to be incorporated in the circuit to control the audio volume.
