The Pickerill receiver was a 1911-1912 United Wireless Telegraph (UWT) Company made receiver that was reportedly designed by Elmo Pickerill, a UWT operator, who worked for the American DeForest Wireless Telegraph Company before all assets of that company were transferred to the new UWT Company in 1906, and then worked for UWT until they were absorbed by the American Marconi Wireless Telegraph Company in 1912. Following that, Pickerill became a Marconi employee and eventually RCA employee after American Marconi was sold to RCA in 1919. The Pickerill designed UWT receiver was credited by some as influencing the design of the Marconi 106 receiver, which had a vertical panel with all components including the loose coupler mounted behind the panel, which remains the standard model of todays modern receivers.
