  • Annotazioni
  • This home made four track stereo recorder was hand made by a 27 year old Bruce Manser on the kitchen table in 1969/70 in Adelaide South Australia and is a one only.

It was constructed using second hand materials, some sheet aluminum and bits of brass. Much of the mechanics were built from scratch while the electronics were designed based on Bruce’s experience as a tape recorder service mechanic. The recording circuitry was based on the German Grundig recorders because they were superior to other machines on the market at the time. All the printed circuit boards were also hand made.

Bruce worked his whole career in the radio and professional audio industry in Australia including the 1970/80’s as a sales representative for Syntec International Australia, who imported and distributed Revox, Tannoy, Sennheiser, Ampex and other leading audio brands in Australia. Bruce is retired and living in Queensland and has donated this “one off” recorder to the “Ellison Museum of Radio & Magnetic Recording” in Adelaide South Australia.
