  • This is a DSP version of the popular analog KK-9 Chinese model previously seen on several brands where the CD2003 analog radio IC is used.

    This CMiK KK-9 unit, using a PCB marked as "KK-9/A 2019.7.8", features the KT0936MB9 DSP radio chip (IC2 in the PCB) configured to run without an additional custom setup EEPROM.

    Unlike so many DSP designs, this implementation does not use the soft mute option, resulting in an analog like behavior when scanning radio signals.

    The design is pretty much based on the Micro KT0936MB9) published white paper. The FM and MW bands are handled directly by the DSP chip, while the SW signals are first passed thru a S9018 transistor front-end (Q3 marked as J8). The built-in paper cone 8 Ω 0.5 Watt speaker is driven by a 8002A class AB power amplifier (IC1). Two additional transistors (Q1, Q2) are used in the keyboard/dial scale PCB to drive the AM/FM band indicator LEDs.

    The fake DX/Local switch is also used here, as seen before in so many other KK-9 variants.The slider switch misses the metallic contacts, and the two switch poles in the PCB are disconnected.
