Uses 5 x "B" / "U10" Zinc Carbon cells in series, about 2500mAH capacity, so refilling with 4 + 1 Alkaline AA cells in holders is possible (About 2500mAH at 50mA, more at 25mA). The "B" cells are still used internally in the 1289 / 3R12 flashlight battery (2012).
Used in many Battery Portable sets as LT with series filaments to suit built in Mains adaptors.
