  • The Wireless Specialty Apparatus Company Silicon Crystal Detector Type 172.

    The point of contact on the crystal is varied by the motion of two micrometer screws, which slide the face of the silicon crystal under the antimony point.

    This Silicon Detector is very similar to the Wireless Specialty I-P-200 Silicon Detector except the base is slightly smaller. Both of these Wireless Specialty Silicon Detectors are virtually identical to the Adams-Morgan Type CR1235 Silicon-Antimony Detector. The Adams-Morgan Type CR1235 was built under contract for the US Navy Dept. in 1919 presumably using the Wireless Specialty design.
