  The kit was sold using Lekmek or RCS coil kits by Levenson’s, Fox & Mac Gillycuddy and others at various prices around £13/- depending on the quality of components and valve brands supplied

  This design is believed to be the first ever utilisation of the split load or cathodyne phase splitter.  In this case, however, as the detector circuit is floating, and referenced to the cathode of the 55, the stage has gain.
