• Zenith Model L406 "The Voyager" is a conventional 4 tube superheterodyne circuit covering the AM Broadcast band 535-1620KC and an additional continuous Shortwave band covering 4.6-16.1MC.

  Power is supplied either though the 117V AC line though the use of a Selenium Rectifier or by a Zenith Z-909 battery pack or similar providing 9V at 50mA for the A supply and 90V at 14mA for the B supply. A 27 ohm dropping resistor in the chassis drops an additional 1.5V when operated on battery for the 7.5V filament string.

  Reception is provided via a ferrite loopstick antenna mounted in the cabinet for the AM Broadcast Band while the Shortwave antenna is a short hank of wire which exits the chassis and is designed to be deployed for best reception.
