• Es ist ein kleiner Röhrensender (der einzelne Draht ist die Antenne) eingebaut um das Signal des Plattenspielers auf Mittelwelle im Radio zu empfangen. Die meisten Radios der 30er Jahre hatten in USA keinen Anschluß für Plattenspieler und so entwickelte Zenith wie auch RCA "Funkplattenspieler" um ohne Eingriff in den Empfänger Schallplattenmusik im Radio zu ermöglichen. Die Sendefrequenz läßt sich mit einem kleinen Drehkondensator unter der Abdeckkappe auf einen rundfunksenderfreien Bereich auf der Skala einstellen.

  A small tube transmitter (the single wire is the antenna) is built in to receive the signal from the turntable on AM on the radio. Most radios in the 1930s in the USA did not have a connection for record players and so Zenith and RCA developed "radio record players" to enable record music on the radio without interfering with the receiver. The transmission frequency can be set to a range on the scale that is free of radio stations using a small variable capacitor under the cover cap.
