The Fordahl DFN 14-EP Clock Oscillator (formerly named DFN 114-EP) uses a hybrid circuit containing the oscillator and buffer electronics, and a crystal either mounted directly on top of the hybrid or packaged in its own holder. It is an economical device without temperature compensation that was widely used in the computer industry. Frequencies between 30 and 200 MHz could be specified by the customer. The output is compatible with ECL 10KH logic and optionally an additional inverted output can be provided on pin 1.
Supply voltage -5.2 V ±5%
Supply current (no load) ≤ 50 mA
Output load 50 Ω to -2 V
Output levels ≥ -1 V, ≤ -1.6 V
Symmetry at 50% level 40/60...60/40% max
Rise/fall times ≤ 2 ns up to 170 MHz, ≤ 1.5 ns above
Start up ≤ 10 ms at -5.2 V
Storage temperature -55 to 125˚C
Shocks (6 directions) 1000 g, 0.2 ms, 1/2 sine
Vibration (3 axes) 20-2000 Hz, 20 gOver the temperature range 0 to 70˚C the stability can be specified as ±50 ppm (code XB50, as illustrated) or ±100 ppm (code XB100). This includes 25˚C calibration, temperature variation, 1st year ageing, power supply voltage and load changes. The engraving 9939 is a date code (1999, week 39).
