• Bemerkung

• This is a WWII clandestine, spy radio receiver, model SSR-5-A. It is part of SSTR-5 radio set produced by the OSS (Office of Strategic Services) in 1945. It was used in the China - Burma - India theater of WWII.

  The SSR-5-A receiver is a 6 tube superhetrodyne set covering 2.5 to 12 MHz in two bands, designated as High and Low. Controls consist of an ON / OFF switch, a band switch, a BFO switch, a gain control and a vernier tuning dial. Two terminals provide connections for the antenna and ground leads. The power cord is fastened internally and terminates in a four pin plug which would plug into the accompanying transmitter.
