• The Schulmerich Model 6-228 is a monolithic audio amplifier not designed to have daily user-operated controls, and would normally be mounted in the bottom of an electronic carillon after a preamplifier. The unit has two top-of-chassis-mounted RCA audio input jacks and a rear Amphenol connector for audio input from a preamplifier. There are two chassis connectors labeled "Input Transformer" and "Tel. line Out" that have no below-chassis connecting wiring and no above-chassis devices plugged into them. The unit has Plate Balance controls adjusting voltage on the output tube (KT88) screens, a well-hidden overall gain control and a rear-accessible "hum" control that sets the ground point on an AC supply feed from the main power transformer to the external preamplifier. The unit draws 250 watts of mains power, has six solid-state diodes in the B+ power supply.
