FM1649 VHF FM Transceiver was a single-unit construction equipment designed for under-dash mounting.
It utilised a 7½ watt RF output, crystal-controlled transmitter utilizing FM modulation in the 70 to 85 MHz band.
The tranceiver was used extensivly in the Taxi industry.
