TCA VHF, Local Base station. FM1674 Series

The TCA FM1674 Series, Local Base Station was aimed predominantly at the Government market. It featured a 50 or 25 watt FM transmitter and, as the specifications for mobile radio had become more stringent in the late 1950’s  a receiver designed for 60 kHz RF channel spacing. 
It utilized a transistorized power supply and was available in the 33-49 MHz, 68-88 MHz and the 148-174 MHz frequency bands.  A variety of mechanical versions were available, local control units with either inbuilt or external power supplies, remote control versions and dust proof ruggedised versions in a die cast aluminium case. For the price sensitive commercial markets, a lower power 10-Watt output version was also released.

The base station could be ordered in four types;

Type 1: 25-watt, AC only
