  • May also be referred to as CN272, later the "Cat. No." prefix of all Vidor models is reduced to CN.

    Portable battery receiver in a black leatherette suitcase style case with the loudspeaker in the lid. Same chassis as the Burndept 274. Volume is adjusted using the reaction control.

    Batteries: The lead acid 2V  LT is a 16AH Gel type to avoid spills. The grid bias is tapped  on the HT pack (Vidor 17872, tapped at least 1.5, 3, 72 &108V), with GB2 going to 0V (blue), GB1 to 1.5V (yellow), HT- to 3V (black), HT1 to 72V (green) and HT2 to 108V (red), physically the same size as Winner 108 (but not same connections).

    Unusally for a Vidor TRF, both RF valves/Tubes are Hexodes. The output pentode is the later 5 pin version, there is an earlier 4 pin plus side terminal type. Another rare feature for a battery set of this era is the scale lamp separately switched, 2.6V @ 300mA..The frame aerial is in the lid and tuned.
